FortiClient installation

The following explains how to download and install the latest FortiClient software.

The latest version of the FortiClient can be downloaded for free directly from the manufacturer's website.
Open the following link to get redirected to the download

Scroll down a bit until you see this display with the download button as shown in the picture below. Click on the Download-Button of your operating system and execute the file after the download.

As soon as you run the downloaded file, the FortiClient Installer starts. This will first collect all the required files, which can take a moment. Existing profiles from previous versions of the SSL-VPN client should be imported automatically.

The installation wizard will then open, which will guide you through the installation process.

In order to start the installation, you must accept FortiClient’s license agreement.

Click Next to continue

The next step is to select the different components of the installation.

Keep the default settings and click Next again to continue.

Select an installation folder. Again, we recommend that you leave the default folder attached. To continue, click on Next.

Click on Install to start the installation.

As soon as the installation is complete, you can close the wizard by clicking Finish.

Finally, a restart of the computer is required. If possible, it is best to restart the computer right away.

Set up VPN connection

After the program has been installed, you can run it by double-clicking it.

In the FortiClient Console you now have the possibility to set up a VPN connection under Remote Access.

Click on Configure VPN to set up a connection.

In the following menu you now have various options for setting up your New VPN connection.

You now have successfully set up your VPN connection with the new FortiClient.

If you have any problems or questions during installation, 4net support will be happy to help you.
